Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes and volumes do you provide?
We produce an extensive range of bottles, jars, pots, closures and seals. We can accommodate all the standard sizes and shapes used in pharmaceuticals, supplements and the honey industry, as well as being able to produce customised products (click here for a good example of this).
You can view all our current proprietary products in the products menu.
Feel free to come to our showroom to see our product range and to see our production facility. We believe the more you understand about the packaging process, the better your business is as well.
Is there a minimum quantity that I need to order?
We understand that New Zealand companies often deal with production runs of anywhere from only a few hundred units to hundreds of thousands. So we look for ways to be flexible with quantities and find cost efficiencies for our clients where we can. A good rule of thumb is a minimum quantity of 10,000 units for a "non-stock" part, but please contact us and we’ll see how we can help.
The minimum order for stock items is either by full carton quantity or full pallet quantity. These quantities vary depending on the product being ordered.
How long does it take between order and delivery?
The time it takes to get your order ready depends on several factors – the quantity you require, whether a stock or customised item is best for your needs, and what type of wadding you may require. Because we manufacture and wad in-house, we can control the lead times better than if an external supplier was needed, and we can give you realistic timeframes. Give us a call and we can easily give you an idea of costs and lead times that we’ve had in the past.
How much do your products cost?
This depends on the type of product you need, the quantity, timeframes, wadding and several other factors. We like to ask you a few questions about your needs and find the best solution fit for your purpose. So please get in touch and we’ll see how we can help find the best price for what you need.
What standards do you meet?
All raw materials used in the production of our products meet with FDA and EU requirements.
We are certified and fully comply with processes and procedures outlined in ISO 9001:2015 standards. Becoming registered means we adhere to a Quality Management Systems (QMS) framework and a set of principles that ensure we consistently deliver products that meet our customer’s requirements, comply with statutory and regulatory guidelines and reduce risks and operating costs.
What types of plastics do you use?
All the plastic materials used by Pharmapac undergo a careful and scrupulous approval procedure. They are suitable for contact with food and, in most cases, conform with the specifically related information found in FDA and European requirements.
Are your plastics recyclable?
Yes. Pharmapac only manufacture with grades of plastic which are fully recyclable in New Zealand.
These consist of:
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) |
|
Recycled Polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) |
|
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) |
|
Plant Based High-density polyethylene (HDPE) | |
Polypropylene (PP) |
What does the term PPAC mean?
PPAC is the abbreviation for Pharmapac and is found on most of the bases of our products. The reason for this is so we can fit in an identification on smaller format packaging aswell as the recycling code.
